What equipment do I need to evaluate the demo?
No access to phone lines or any special hardware is required. A standard Windows Personal Computer with a sound card and speakers or headphones.
What equipment do I need to deploy HRphone?
We recommend using a dedicated Windows Personal Computer (that is not used for any other ‘desktop’ work). Minimum recommended specification is Pentium 4 class processor with 1G bytes RAM, running Windows 2000, XP or 2003 Server.
Windows Vista is not currently supported.
What kind of phone lines does HRphone connect to?
HRphone absence software connects to standard voice lines. Sometimes called analogue POTS (plain old telephone service) or PSTN (public switched telephone network).
Can HRphone connect to my office phone system?
Yes. HRphone can use extension lines off your office phone switch (often called a Private Branch Exchange or PBX). Extensions lines must be analogue extensions, similar to lines you use for fax machines and DECT phones.
Can HRphone handle multiple calls at the same time?
Yes. You need to configure a hunt-group on your office PBX, so that one external phone number fans out to multiple extension lines. You may already have a similar configuration for help-desk phone lines within your organization.
How does HRphone connect to my phone lines?
HRphone uses a Dialogic voice board to connect to your phone lines. This is a PCI board that plugs into your computer. The Dialogic board is available from us or we can supply a list of local suppliers.
